Game preparations

Before you throw down and rock some socks off, there's 3 steps to go through before a game starts. The first is map selection, the second is hero draft and the third is lobby creation. The hero draft and lobby creation of course repeat each map. Creating them correctly is the responsibility of the team that selected the map. In case of a tiebreaker, the first team to ban a map is responsible for the hero draft and lobby creation.

Additionally, the team selecting the map will be the top team in the lobby and will ban second during hero draft! Both teams are responsible for ensuring the game preparations rules are followed correctly.

By default the team coming from the top of the bracket will be the team to ban first during map selection. However, seeming HotS is a very new game and there are no clear rankings yet for any of the teams, if one or both of the teams request so, the admin will flip a coin. Winning the toss will allow you to pick whether your team bans first or second.

Maps

* Blackheart's Bay
* Cursed Hollow
* Dragon Shire
* Garden of Terror
* Haunted Mines
* Sky Temple
* Temple of the Spider Queen

Map choice

The following map pick method will be used. Maps are played in the order they were chosen in. A ban means that the map won't be played, while a pick means that it's one of the chosen maps.

Procedure (Bo3):
Team 1 banishes 1 map from the map pool.
Team 2 banishes 1 map from the map pool.
Team 1 banishes 1 map from the map pool.
Team 2 banishes 1 map from the map pool.
Team 1 chooses 1 map from the map pool.
Team 2 chooses 1 map from the map pool.
The map that remains will be played as the decider map when the score is a draw.

Hero Draft

The draft process should be completed through the Stormcraft draft tool before the match. Please be aware that you are responsible for ensuring the right players on your team own the right heroes. If they do not, they will be expected to buy said heroes and play talent-gated.

http://www.stormcraft.com/en/drafttool/
The team that picked the map has to create the draft and send the correct link to the other team. For the tiebreaking map, the team that banned a map first will do so. The team that picked the map also bans second!

Game settings

* Custom game with the following settings. Standard, Normal privacy. Do not hide matches from the match history.
* ALL players are required to put their status on busy.
* ALL players are required to turn off notifications.
* Each team needs to save a copy of the replay. These are stored automatically by default.

Spectators

The only spectators allowed in any tournament games will be our official streamers. If they contact you, please do your best to accommodate them and providing them with the draft link.

Tardiness/no shows/breaks

Each match will have a scheduled start time. These start times are flexible in the sense that as the tournament progresses they may be moved to fit the available time.

If there is a reason not to make this scheduled time (ie. the roof blowing off the building, the sea reclaiming Eindhoven, or more realistic scenarios like craziness on the mainstage, or computers being set up by others across from you) please contact an admin ASAP. If no notice is given within 20 minutes of the scheduled time we reserve the right to penalize missing teams with a map loss. If an additional 15 minutes goes by and one or both teams are still missing we reserve the right to disqualify the appropriate teams.

We will be flexible with our time schedules and try to accommodate the players as much as possible, so we hope never to invoke these rules. Communication here is critical. The admin staff will be available to mediate disagreements.

Between each map a 5 minute break may be taken. Please save extended breaks, such as meals, for between the matches.
